Kristiana Neff, M.D., is a board-certified, ophthalmic surgeon with extensive fellowship training, specializing in complex corneal and ocular surface disease, corneal transplantation, cataracts, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Neff graduated with distinction from Purdue University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Spanish.
She received her Doctorate Degree in Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed both an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
She subsequently completed additional subspecialty fellowship training in corneal and ocular surface disease, complex cataract surgery, and refractive surgery at the renowned Cincinnati Eye Institute/the University of Cincinnati.
Following her fellowship, Dr. Neff cultivated a referral practice in cataract, corneal and refractive surgery in Columbia, South Carolina, where she enjoyed teaching residents as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina. She was awarded “Teacher of the Year” by the ophthalmology residents, an award given to the most esteemed professor in the department.
Her work has been published in numerous peer reviewed scientific journals, and she has authored several chapters in textbooks on cornea, cataract, and ocular surface disease. She is active with speakerships to educate other ophthalmologists regarding innovations in the treatment of patients with complex cataract and corneal diseases.
Among other honors, Dr. Neff has been recognized by “Best Doctors in America” and has been elected into several honor societies including the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha, the only medical school honors society. She is active in the Eye Bank Association of America, the Cornea Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the South Carolina Medical Association.
